People are caught up in impressing their significant others on Valentine’s Day, but why don’t they pay any attention to their cars on this holiday for celebrating love?
Your car has been there for you through thick and thin, so this Valentine’s Day, show your car some love. It’s been a harsh winter and your car is feeling it as much as you are, so give it a bit of attention this holiday. Here are a few small things that will help your car feel refreshed and appreciated.
Run it Through a Carwash
If your city experienced a major snow storm this week, your car is in desperate need of a good cleaning. Start your Valentine’s Day off with a romantic bath for your car and run it through a car wash. Show your car it’s really appreciated and opt for the best one you can afford. Give the car a thorough vacuuming, too.
Spruce Up the Interior
That recent snow storm means that you’ve tracked a bunch of dirt and salt into your car’s interior. You can’t just clean off salt and coffee stains with regular water and soap, so buy sprays or wipes that are specially formulated for removing salt from a car’s interior. Other options that will work are wipes or sprays that are made for shoes. If it’s safe for your shoes, it’s probably safe for your car.
Also, clean out all the trash that’s accumulated in all the nooks and crannies. That stuff is gross.
Top Up Your Car’s Fluids
Now’s a good time to make sure your car’s fluids are all topped up. Anti-freeze and windshield washer fluid are just two things to check. You might want to keep a jug of windshield washer in the trunk, especially in the winter, and also get a jug holder so it doesn’t crash around every time you turn the car. The cradles usually have velcro on the bottom so it sticks to your trunk’s carpeting, keeping the jug firmly in place.
Buy Her Perfume
Car fragrances have come a long way. We’re no longer forced to take the cheap pine-scented crap your mechanic gives you. Car fragrances these days can be as good as real perfume. Being mid-winter, your car is likely smelling a bit stale and musty after all the moisture stuck inside from melted snow. First off, get a moisture absorber or dehumidifier for your car, and then compliment that with some sort of air freshener. Sometimes, you can get both in one product.
Get Something For Yourself Too
I always buy myself a Christmas present, and I don’t see why Valentine’s Day is any different. If your car is a bit older, there are a few easy ways to make it better, like a phone cradle, an aftermarket head-up display unit or even a new head unit that is Bluetooth compatible so you can stream music.
