The new, sixth-generation Chevy Camaro race car has arrived in the form of the new GT4.R.

Borrowing its body from the new ZL1 1LE, under the hood will be a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, making 420 horsepower. A six-speed sequential shift gearbox has been fit and an Xtrac limited-slip differential is tucked in the back.

The car is built to global GT4 regulations and is eligible for the GS category in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and the GTS class in Pirelli World Challenge.

Built with technical partner Pratt & Miller Engineering, the car has Ohlins 2-way adjustable coil-overs, a new hydraulic power steering rack and an upgraded Bosch M4 ABS braking system. Hooking up with the track are 18-inch Pirelli or Continental racing slicks. Overall weight is pegged at 3,150 pounds compared to the 3,820 pound-weight of the ZL1 1LE.

The GT4.R will be campaigned by the Blackdog Speed Shop in Pirelli World Challenge.
