Hennessey is Already Offering a 1,200HP Corvette ZR1 Upgrade Pack

If the 755 horsepower the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has to offer isn’t enough for you, Hennessey already has a fix.

The Hennessey HPE1200 supercharged engine upgrade for the ZR1 brings total output to an estimated 1,200 hp to go with 1,066 pound-feet of torque. Building on the LT5 supercharged engine powering the ZR1 from the factory, Hennessey overhauls the engine block with custom aluminum pistons, forged steel connecting rods, and stroker crankshaft upgrade that brings displacement up to 7 liters. Plenty of headwork is done as well, including ported cylinder heads, upgraded valve springs and retainers, upgraded intake and exhaust valves, as well as upgraded lifters and pushrods.

The high flow supercharger system is aided by a high flow intercooling system and air-to-air intercooler. Other engine upgrades include long-tube stainless steel headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and stainless steel midpipes.

Like other Hennessey Performance upgrades, the HPE1200 system is professionally installed by the company and comes with a one-year, 12,000-mile limited warranty. Pricing wasn’t announced, but the numbers that were revealed will likely make the price sting a lot less. Hennessey claims the HPE1200 will allow the ZR1 to accelerate from zero-to-60 in 2.2 seconds and run the quarter mile in 9.2 seconds at 147 mph. Top speed? Well, that’s estimated to be over 230 mph.
