Honda is Heading to Vegas with Cute, Yet Scary Robots

Honda is set to unveil its new 3E Robotics Concept at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The 3E stands for “Empower, Experience, Empathy” and aims to demonstrate a range of experimental technologies engineered to advance mobility and make people’s lives better, said Honda. The advanced robotic concepts is Honda’s vision of a society where robotics and AI can assist people in various situations, such as disaster recovery, recreation, and learning from human interaction so they can become more helpful and empathetic.

Four robots in total will debut at CES 2018. The 3E-A18 is a companion that shows compassion to humans with a variety of facial expressions, while the 3E-B18 is a chair-type mobility concept that’s designed for casual use in indoor or outdoor spaces. Then there’s the 3E-C18, a miniature electric mobility concept with multi-functional cargo space. Lastly, the 3E-D18 is an autonomous off-road vehicle concept with AI designed to support people in a broad range of work activities.

Joining the 3E Robotics Concept at CES will be Honda’s Mobile Power Pack World, a battery exchange concept that can store and charge mobile battery packs.
