Volkswagen T-Roc Small Crossover to Debut on August 23rd

Volkswagen is expanding its crossover and SUV lineup some more.

The latest addition to VW’s SUV lineup, the little T-Roc, will make its public debut later this month, according to the description on a new video about the car’s design.

The T-Roc will be smaller than either new Tiguan (European or American) and is aimed at the young and the hip.

More good news from the video is that VW is shying away from oppressive black interiors, instead having a bit of German (read: sober) fun with its materials and colors.

Even better, in the best tradition of microbuses, the T-Roc will also come with two-tone paint jobs, so pull out your color wheel to get ready for some complimentary color combos.

Based on the same MQB platform that underpins, oh, just about everything at VW, the T-Roc ought to perform pretty well, too.

This will be the first production VW to feature a 48-volt mild hybrid system that in Audi’s SQ7 winds up the turbos to eliminate turbo lag.

Production is set to start later this month in Portugal.
