Watch a Ferrari-Powered Toyota 86 Drift on Public Roads

Last year for SEMA, professional drifter Ryan Tuerck built one of the craziest machines ever.

He started with a Toyota 86 and tossed out the factory engine for a powerplant from a Ferrari 458. Since then, we’ve seen videos and photos of the completed project and now Tuerck has finally put it to the real test on a Portland touge.

Perhaps even Tuerck was a bit overanxious to let the car free on the mountain, as he crashed it on the very first pass of the day. But like all professional drifters who know a thing or two about crashing, Tuerck and his team were ready and armed to repair the car quickly so they could get it back on the road and capture some amazing footage.

In a video clip that seems like a scene right out of , Tuerck effortlessly gets the GT-4586 sideways and it gets even better because we hear plenty of wondrous Ferrari noises instead of the agricultural boxer four that comes with normal 86s. And to make it all the more fitting, a real Ferrari 458 was used as a camera car to capture some of the footage you see in the video.
