2014 Buick Verano eAssist Rumored

2014 Buick Verano eAssist Rumored

If rumors are to be believed, Buick is looking to expand its Verano lineup in the near future with the addition of a hybrid eAssist variant of its compact sedan.

The all-new Verano hopes to bring a new image to the American automaker – you can read AutoGuide’s review here – and the addition of a turbocharged, 250-hp variant gives it a sporty image. It’s now being rumored that joining the Verano family for a 2015 launch will be a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder powered Verano featuring the eAssist’s mild hybrid setup.

Originally planned to debut in 2013, the product has been postponed until 2014, possibly so the American automaker can rework its eAssist technology. The eAssist hasn’t exactly been highly criticized, so General Motors may have delayed the launch in order to go back to the drawing board to make it more favorable before incorporating it into the Verano.
