A Tastefully Tuned Acura NSX is Heading to SEMA

Renowned NSX tuning shop ScienceofSpeed has applied its expertise to a second-generation NSX for its self-described “dream project.”

The NSX Dream Project features both performance and cosmetic modifications. On the performance side of things is a lightweight stainless steel exhaust system, which has shaved 16 lbs from the car, along with a liquid-injected intercooler. This is boosted output of the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine from 573 horsepower and 476 lb-ft of torque to 610 hp and 507 lb-ft. Other performance mods include extra-sticky Pirelli Trofeo R tires, Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, and a 1.0-inch suspension lowering kit.

Appearance-wise, the Dream Project NSX has received Advan GT Forged wheels and a ScienceofSpeed aero kit with a front splitter, carbon rocker panels, a large rear wing and a rear diffuser. Automatic sensing suspension technology from iLIFT will also raise the front axle of the NSX two-inches when it detects obstacles – preventing that low front splitter from scraping on the ground when entering parking lots or a driveway. Rounding out the changes is a Vouvelle Blue Pearl exterior, which is joined by a black-painted roof – an homage to the original NSX.

Inside, the NSX Dream Project has received black and blue Recaro seats and a gaugeART OLED multi-function display, which provides the driver with key vehicle performance data.

“ScienceofSpeed is thrilled to present our expression of the second generation NSX unlimited and unrestricted,” said ScienceofSpeed manager, Chris Willson. “Devoted NSX fans share in a rich 27-year history, and with the second generation NSX reaching the aftermarket community, now is an extraordinary time to be an NSX enthusiast. We are thrilled to share our passion for this iconic platform.”

The NSX Dream Project will be on display this week at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
