America’s Safest New Cars

America’s2017 Toyota Camry
Front Crash Prevention: Advanced (4 points)
Camry is one of the best-selling passenger cars in the U.S. and — as expected — the midsize sedan comes well equipped with several high-tech safety features. Blind Spot Monitor, Land Departure Warning, Backup Camera and Whiplash-Injury-Lessening seats are all available on the Camry. Putting the Camry on this IIHS TSP+ list is the available Pre-Collison System. Working with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, the PCS can anticipate an imminent forward collision, warn the driver and ultimately apply the brakes. Camry scores a four out of six — able to reduce speed by just 5 mph in the 25 mph High-speed Autobrake test. We expect the all-new 2018 Camry will be on this list once its tested.
Additional Costs: The Pre-Collision System is part of a fully-loaded package available on the Camry XLE for $4,235
