Aston Martin Confirms its First All-Electric Model

The Aston Martin RapidE will enter production in 2019 as the brand’s first fully electric car.

The British automaker first previewed its all-electric model less than two years ago with a concept, and the production model will be based on the Aston Martin Rapide AMR. The all-electric model will be limited to 155 units and Williams Advanced Engineering has been confirmed to be the lead engineering partner on the car. Williams Advanced Engineering worked on the original RapidE Concept and will assist Aston Martin with the task of engineering integration.

Along with the released sketches, Aston Martin confirmed the all-electric RapidE will deliver four-door sports car looks and the dynamics of the Rapide S, all while being propelled by an all-electric powertrain replacing the 6.0-liter V12 engine. More information on the powertrain will be released at a later date.
