The BMW X2 has been spied with barely any camouflage prior to its debut.
The gold-painted X2 was photographed on the back of a shipping truck. There’s some light camo on the taillights and rear spoiler, but other than that, the test car is completely uncovered. We get the feeling this was done on purpose by BMW as it’s already shown the X2 in public with some light urban camo, so there isn’t much less for us to learn in regards to its styling. As we already knew, the X2 has high beltline with a narrow greenhouse section, the automaker’s new corporate front end and a significant amount of black plastic cladding.

The X2 rides on BMW’s front-wheel drive UKL platform, but all-wheel drive should be standard. It will likely be offered with a range of four-cylinder engines in North America and BMW’s eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. Despite having already shown the car to the public, BMW has yet to set an official debut date for the X2. It’s possible we’ll see it at the 2017 Los Angeles Motor Show, however, so keep an eye out for it in late November.
