Elon Musk Places Eighth in List of Highest Rated CEOs

Tesla founder Elon Musk has been rated as one of the top CEOs in the country – but it wasn’t for his work with the electric automaker.

In addition to Tesla, Musk also runs OpenAI, The Boring Company, Neuralink and SpaceX. It was for his efforts with his aerospace company SpaceX that he was named one of America’s top CEOs, with employees helping to push him to eighth in Glassdoor’s recent ranking of the 100 highest-rated CEOs in America.

Glassdoors’ ranking is decided based on anonymous entries from employees. SpaceX workers gave Musk an average score of 98 percent – well above the 67 percent average for the study. Musk was narrowly beaten out by Bain and Company’s Bob Bechek, who also received a score of 98 percent. The top six all received scores of 99 percent.

Musk’s other companies were not eligible for Glassdoor’ ranking, likely due to the fact that Glassdoor did not receive enough employee submissions to result in an accurate conclusion. His SpaceX ranking bodes well for his performance at his other companies, however, seeing as he was able to achieve a 98 percent rating while also juggling a multitude of outside responsibilities.

SpaceX, which currently employs about 4,000 people, also landed 40th on Glassdoor’s ‘Best Places to Work’ list.
