Both the Ford Mustang and F-150 will be getting updated for the 2018 model year and it seems Ford is out testing the pair together.
Spy photographers have caught both models testing together, with the Mustang wearing more camouflage than the F-150 pickup. Expect the sports car to get a moderate, mid-cycle facelift with the most significant changes happening to the front end. Although it’s heavily camouflaged, we can see new LED-ringed headlights peeking from underneath. In the rear, it appears the tail lights will also undergo some changes for the updated model.
Expect to see the company’s new 10-speed automatic transmission join the Mustang’s lineup, the same unit co-developed with GM and used in the new Chevrolet Camaro.

Since the current F-150 has been on the market since 2014, it’s time for it to receive a nice update too. Like the Ford Mustang, it appears the front and rear fascias will be changed as well as the headlights and the tail lights. The bigger news is that Ford will finally outfit the F-150 with the long-rumored 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine. The automaker will also update the 5.0-liter V8 engine, and both powerplants will be mated to the new 10-speed automatic transmission.
