Hyundai Recalls 1M Sonatas Over Seat Belt Concerns

Hyundai is calling back roughly 978,000 Sonata sedans in the U.S. over an issue with the seat belt.

The issue affecting the cars is a fastener on the seat belt anchor which may not have been fully latched during assembly, leading to the possibility of the belt becoming detached.

Hyundai says that it knows of one minor injury related to this problem, following a belt coming loose during a collision in a 2013 Sonata. The 2011-2014 Sonata models are affected along with the 2011-2015 Sonata hybrid.
