Hyundai Teases its Hot Hatch That Isn't Coming to the US

The Hyundai i30 N performance hatchback has been teased ahead of its debut on July 13th.

Although the Hyundai’s first performance model won’t be heading to the U.S., the debut of the i30 N will give us a good idea of what to expect when the Veloster N makes its debut. The i30 N is the first product from the Korean automaker’s N performance sub-brand, and it’s been taking its development rather seriously. We’ve seen the i30 N testing at the Nurburgring and in frigid Sweden, and Hyundai has even employed the help of WRC driver Thierry Neuville for its development.

It’s believed the Hyundai i30 N will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, offering two different grades of power. The standard model will boast 246 horsepower while a 271 horsepower option will be available. In addition to its uprated powerplant, the i30 N will benefit from upgraded suspension and brakes, larger wheels and tires and a limited-slip differential.
