Mercedes-Benz Releases One Final Teaser for its Pickup Truck

The production Mercedes-Benz X-Class pickup truck will make its debut later today.

Earlier this month, the German automaker confirmed the truck’s debut in Cape Town, South Africa with the release of a short video teasing the truck’s design. Now we have one final image showing off the company’s signature daytime running lights and three-pointed-star emblem. Although the truck is shrouded in darkness, it appears the production X-Class won’t stray very far from the concept’s design that was shown at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

The upcoming X-Class shares its underpinnings with the existing Nissan Navara, but don’t expect it to be just a simple rebadge with Mercedes design elements. The automaker has injected plenty of luxury to the truck, hoping to appeal to a different segment of buyers. Expect to see softer interior materials, better sound insulation, and more technology including semi-autonomous safety features.

Check back later today once the Mercedes-Benz X-Class makes its official debut for all the full details on the automaker’s first pickup truck. For now, the company still has no plans of bringing it to North America.
