SAD! Trump's Former Ferrari F430 Disappoints at Auction

Someone’s ego might be a bit damaged by this news.

Bidding on the 2007 Ferrari F430 previously owned by Donald Trump stopped at $240,000, which was $10,000 below its low estimate. That means the exotic left the auction block before meeting reserve at the Auctions America event, but the auction house issued a statement hours later saying a private sale took place: “We can confirm it exchanged hands just minutes after it left the podium” for $270,000.

Auctions America didn’t disclose any details on the private sale, but  reports had it sold for $240,000 it would have been the most expensive F430 Coupe sold at an auction with an automatic transmission. Auctions America estimated it could have gone for as high as $350,000.

The vehicle crossing the auction block was first owned by Trump when it was brand new and he managed to put 2,400 miles on the odometer over four years. The second owner, who put it up for auction, added 3,600 miles more since purchasing the car in 2011.

The F430 featured a traditional red exterior and tan leather interior, red-painted brake calipers, Daytona-style seats and Scuderia Ferrari shield badges.
