The all-new 2018 Audi RS4 Avant has made its official debut, but don’t get too excited, Audi RS fans – we probably won’t be getting this delicious wagon here in North America.
Under the hood of the RS4 Avant is the same 450 horsepower, 442 lb-ft 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that debuted in the new RS5. In the wagon variant, the six-cylinder inspires a 0-62 mph time of just 4.1 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (though the optional RS Dynamic package raises it to 174 mph). An eight-speed Tiptronic automatic is the only transmission option and Quattro all-wheel drive is standard, of course.
Audi says the RS4 Avant’s standard RS suspension is 0.3-inches lower than the regular A4’s. Also standard are Audi drive select driving modes, which includes an Individual mode to personalize the drive experience. An optional RS sport suspension plus system is available as well, which adds Dynamic Ride Control, ceramic brakes and dynamic steering.

Occupants of the RS4 Avant will be greeted with the same equipment found in the RS5. There’s RS Sport seats in an optional honeycomb stitch pattern, a flat bottom RS multifunction sport steering wheel and lots and lots of RS branding. There’s also RS-specific displays for the Audi virtual cockpit digital dash, which can display a g-force meter, tire pressures and torque delivery. Trim options consist of gloss black, carbon with aluminum trim and carbon with gloss black trim. The Audi Exclusive personalization program will also fulfill special customer requests as needed.
The Audi RS 4 Avant will arrive at dealers in Germany and other European countries in early 2018. It’s been priced from €79,800 (about $95,000).
