The first Ford GT supercar has rolled off the assembly, ready to make someone’s Christmas extra special.
The car is built at Multimatic in Markham, Ontario, Canada, where Ford’s executive vice president, Raj Nair, drove the first new GT off the assembly line.
“When we kicked off 2016, we had two primary objectives for our Ford GT supercar – to excel at Le Mans, and to start deliveries before year-end,” says Nair. “We’ve achieved both.”

Ford has said that it will build 250 units a year for the next four years, which means that a total of 1,000 new GTs will eventually be built.
As a refresher, the GT uses a fully carbon fiber tub along with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes over 600 horsepower. Ford has received overwhelming demand for the new $400,000 supercar and even with 1,000 produced, Ford won’t be providing a car to everyone that applied for one.
