Three Jaguar Models Receive New 296-HP Engine

The 2018 Jaguar XE, XF, and F-Pace models have added a new Ingenium four-cylinder engine to their lineups.

The all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Ingenium gasoline engine produces 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, good enough to take the F-Pace SUV from zero-to-60 mph in 5.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds) while providing fuel economy up to 25 mpg on the highway. In the Jaguar XF midsize sedan, it helps the zero-to-60 dash occur in 5.4 seconds (0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds) in rear-wheel-drive form, with up to 28 mpg on the highway. The Jaguar XE sedan is the quickest of the three with the new engine, going zero-to-60 in 5.2 seconds (0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds) with all-wheel drive and returning a highway fuel economy rating of up to 28 mpg.

The new engine is badged 30t on the XE, XF, and F-Pace models and is manufactured at the Jaguar Land Rover Engine Manufacturing Center in Wolverhampton, U.K. It is paired with a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission and XE and XF customers can choose between rear- and all-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is standard on the Jaguar F-Pace.

“We continue to broaden the range of our Ingenium engine family, giving customers more choice than ever before. Our new 296HP petrol engine provides the performance synonymous with Jaguar, while delivering fuel efficiency thanks to its state-of-the-art exhaust technology and pioneering valve train design,” said Nick Rogers, Executive Director, Product Engineering. “This clean and more efficient engine perfectly complements the advanced lightweight aluminum body structure of our XE, XF and F-PACE models.”
