The 2017 L.A. Auto Show will open its doors to the public next week and here’s what you can expect at the annual show.
This year’s show promises to deliver more than 60 global and North American debuts, many of which have already been introduced online. Although we’ve seen a lot of the cars so far, the L.A. show always has a few surprises, and we’ll be reporting live from the show floor as the debuts happen. Press days are Nov. 29 and 30.
2017 LA Auto Show Full Coverage
This year, a few startup companies will debut new cars, but as for the major automakers, we’ve broken it down to what you can expect and whether or not they will have a surprise waiting. Here’s what to expect at this year’s L.A. Auto Show.
Aston Martin
It hasn’t been confirmed whether Aston Martin will have the Vantage on display, as the automaker itself typically doesn’t have a booth at the show. Instead, one of its dealers represents the brand and we’re hoping we’ll get an opportunity to see the new stunning new Vantage up close and personal.
BMW
BMW’s major debut in L.A. will be the i8 Roadster, a droptop version of the BMW i8. Expect some changes to the car, however, that will also head to the i8 Coupe. Other notable vehicles that will be on display include the X7 iPerformance Concept, i Vision Dynamics, M3 CS, and i3s. BMW is rumored to be bringing an all-new electric production vehicle as well.
Chevrolet
Chevrolet doesn’t have any major worldwide debuts planned, but it will be the North American debut of the hot Corvette ZR1. Sports car enthusiasts will also get the opportunity to check out the Camaro ZL1 1LE Coupe, while everyone else can enjoy the rest of Chevy’s lineup.
Hyundai
Along with Hyundai‘s entire lineup, the Korean automaker will introduce the North American version of the Kona subcompact crossover. Don’t expect very many surprises since the Kona is already available in other markets, but interested buyers will finally get all the details.
Infiniti
The new Infiniti QX50 will headline the luxury Japanese automaker’s display this year in Los Angeles, along with the refreshed Infiniti QX80. Attendees will also get to check out the QX30, QX60, Q50, Q60, and Q70L.
Jeep
Jeep decided to lift the veil on the 2018 Wrangler in late October, so at the very least, we know what it will look like. But the American automaker will finally reveal all the details of the new Wrangler in L.A. next week. Other models heading on display include the Compass Trailhawk, Renegade Trailhawk, Grand Cherokee Summit, Cherokee Latitude Plus, Renegade Latitude, Cherokee Overland High Altitude, Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Cherokee Trailhawk, Cherokee Overland, Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, Compass Limited, and Compass Latitude.
Lexus
Lexus has already begun teasing its three-row variant of the popular RX crossover. The 2018 Lexus RX 350L will make its world premiere at the 2017 L.A. Auto Show, along with an RX 450hL hybrid variant. The rest of the brand’s lineup will also be on display, including the LS, LC, IS, ES, GS, RC, GX, LX, and NX.
Lincoln
The 2019 Lincoln MKC has already been introduced online and it will make its North American debut in Los Angeles. Joining the new MKC at the American automaker’s display will be the Navigator Black Label Yacht Club, Navigator L Reserve, Continental Black Label, Continental Reserve, and MKZ Hybrid Black Label.
Mazda
Along with the current Mazda3, CX-3, CX-5, CX-9, and MX-5 RF models on display, Mazda will introduce the 2018 Mazda6 and will also show off the stunning Vision Coupe Concept.
Mercedes-Benz
Everyone is looking forward to the debut of the Mercedes-Benz CLS in L.A. this year, but we’re guessing the Mercedes-AMG Project One will be what the crowd gathers around. Race car fans will also get to check out the Mercedes-AMG GT4.
Subaru
All eyes will be on the new 2019 Subaru Ascent, the brand’s largest crossover yet. The three-row model will be offered exclusively in the North American market. Other highlights heading to L.A. from Subaru include the WRX STI Type RA and BRZ tS.
Toyota
Toyota has begun teasing the concept vehicle it will debut in L.A., called the FT-AC. What appears to be a rugged off-roader, the “AC” stands for Adventure Concept and might be the off-road SUV enthusiasts are begging for.
Volvo
Volvo has a vehicle debut at the L.A. Auto Show, joining its existing lineup that consists of the S90, V90, XC40, XC60, and XC90. We might be in for a treat if the Polestar One makes an appearance in L.A.
