2013 Buick Verano Gets NHTSA Five Star Crash Score

The 2013 Buick Verano has received a five-star overall vehicle score for safety from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to go along with its 2012 Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The Verano achieved the five-star rating under NHTSA’s revised New Car Assessment Program with its overall score based on frontal and side crash tests in addition to evaluation for rollover resistance. The performance in the three test segments are combined for an “Overall Vehicle Score.”

Equipped with 10 standard air bags and OnStar, the Verano features sensors in the vehicle that deploy standard head curtain air bags prior to impact and leave them inflated for a longer period of time to provide additional protection. Other safety features include four-wheel disc brakes, ABS, panic brake override, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, and a collapsible pedal to help reduce the risk of leg injury.
