Chinese automaker Geely, which owns Volvo, has teased the first model for its upcoming new brand.
The company, which is called Lynk & Co, is expected to head to Europe and the U.S. in the future after launching in China. It has teased what appears to be a crossover, which Lynk & Co promises will be the “most connected car to date.”
“With Lynk & Co, we have created something bigger than just a car. We have created a digital platform for new thinking, for sharing and for collaboration, where only the imagination and creativity of all the bright minds out there will set the limits for how we can improve the use of cars and the experience of mobility,” said David Green, CDO, Lynk & Co.

The new automaker will be officially unveiled on October 20 and it appears that it will focus on ride-sharing along with collaborations with world-leading tech companies. While little is known about the new company, it is reported that its vehicles will be based on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) co-developed by Geely and Volvo. CMA will also be underpinning the upcoming Volvo XC40.
