New spy photos have emerged of the 2017 Audi RS3 testing on the Nurburgring.
Audi’s latest pocket rocket will be making its way to the U.S. for the first time, and these photos show Audi is hard at work tuning its latest sports-focused RS model. The obvious upgrades to this car include larger air intakes up front, a slightly more aggressive bumper, dual oval exhaust tips, wider side sills and of course a spoiler out back.
Under the hood, power is expected to come from an all-new 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine that cranks out about 400 horsepower. Power will be sent through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which should allow this car to sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in about four seconds. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard, of course.

Although it shares a displacement with the 2.5-liter five-cylinder found in the current European-market RS3, this engine features a new aluminum block along with fresh components. The powerplant already debuted in the new TT RS, and now it will be used in the smaller RS3.
The RS3 is supposed to arrive in the U.S. during 2017 as a 2018 model year vehicle.
