The BMW 3 Series wagon is reportedly getting axed in the U.S.
With sales of crossovers and SUVs increasing year after year in the U.S., automakers are finding it difficult to justify offering wagon models. Rumor has it that the BMW 3 Series wagon is on the chopping block with production ending in June 2019.
While BMW doesn’t release 3 Series sales broken down by body style, it is very likely that the BMW 3 Series wagon isn’t selling well in the U.S., and the company believes the 3 Series Gran Turismo, X1 and even the X3 will fill the gap left behind.

BMW spokeswoman Rebecca Kiehne confirmed to that the 3 Series Wagon will be available for the 2017 model year, but didn’t comment on the future.
Currently Audi offers the A4 Allroad for its wagon variant in the U.S. while the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class wagon is only sold in Canada. Other automakers have strayed away from wagon models in recent years and it’s looking more likely that sooner rather than later they will cease to exist entirely in the U.S.
