Next-Generation BMW X3 Spied Inside and Out

The next-generation BMW X3 has been spied inside and out by spy photographers.

This is the first time spy photographers have been able to snap photos of the next-generation BMW X3’s interior and it appears that the German automaker has outfitted the prototype with its real headlights and tail lights for the first time.

The new BMW X3 is expected to ride on a new platform that will eventually underpin all future models from the 3 Series on up and you can expect the X3 crossover to lose around 220 pounds compared to the current model.

The company is also reportedly working on an X3 M model for the next-generation crossover, with power expected to come from a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine churning around 500 horsepower. As for the standard BMW X3, it will likely be offered with a variety of gasoline and diesel engines worldwide, as well as a plug-in hybrid variant.

Expect the next-generation BMW X3 to make its debut next year with the high-performance X3 M variant following in 2018.
