A new car is designed to grab your attention, but sometimes, things don’t go as planned. 

An ill-timed product launch, a vehicle that’s gotten long in the tooth or one that’s just downright noncompetitive are a few of the reasons an automaker’s shiny new offering becomes forgettable instead of newsworthy. Some cars just fade away and no one pays them any attention. But just because it’s forgotten, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad car. To help you, we’ve gathered together the top 10 cars you probably forgot are still made and are still for sale.

Acura RLX

Acura has never had an easy time with the brand’s flagship sedan. The full-size RL spent a decade and a half in obscurity while its replacement, the RLX, hasn’t fared much better. But, Acura is indeed still selling the big luxury car for 2016 and despite its forgotten status, it is an impressive machine when outfitted as the Sport Hybrid.

s 5 Series GT (Gran Turismo)

BMW makes a lot of models and keeping track of all the variations isn’t an easy task. One of the models that’s steeped in obscurity is the 5 Series GT. A mix between sedan, crossover and wagon, the 5 Series GT has been around since the 2010 model year. With the X4 crossover, X5 and X6 SUVs as well as the 5 Series sedan all available, the need for the 5 Series GT boggles our minds.

Buick Verano

Buick’s compact car is still on the market, even if not many are aware of it. What may be one of the most under-appreciated sleeper cars on sale today, the Verano can be had with a 250-hp turbocharged engine and a six-speed manual transmission. The question is, how much longer will it be around?

Honda CR-Z

Honda’s reincarnation of the legendary CR-X never really caught on. As a front-wheel-drive, two-seat hatchback, the CR-Z looked like a true successor to the CR-X, but the hybrid powerplant pushed the sticker price a bit out of the reach for the average consumer. And now that there’s an all-new Civic Coupe that’s efficient and powerful, the CR-Z may really disappear into obscurity.

With the death of the Insight hybrid, it appears the CR-Z’s days may be numbered, but rumors persist that a second-generation model is on its way.

Jeep Patriot/Jeep Compass

Even with the introduction of the compact Cherokee and all-new subcompact Renegade, the Patriot and Compass twins are still being pumped out for 2016. If a modern Cherokee or technology-laden Renegade isn’t your thing, there’s an old-school Compass waiting to be purchased.

Not all that great when new, these Caliber-related twins are woefully out of date and, thankfully, will be put out to pasture after this model year ends.

Lexus CT 200h

Although it has only been out six years, it feels like Lexus’ compact hybrid has been around much longer than that. Always overshadowed by its bigger Lexus brothers, with the recent onslaught of large sporty Lexus coupes, it’s easy to forget this car is still on sale.

Despite a refresh two years ago, the CT200h was essentially unchanged underneath. Never a blazing sales success, the CT continues to sell in small but steady numbers.

Mitsubishi Lancer

First introduced in 2007, the Lancer continues to soldier on for 2016. Despite a refresh this year, the Lancer is more or less the same car it has been for nine years. With the compact segment so big and full of fresh, new competitors, it’s easy to forget the Lancer is still there.

Despite never being a strong seller, what’s surprising is that Lancer sales have remained pretty much the same for the past five years.

Scion tC

Scion’s second-generation compact coupe dates back 2010 and even then, most had already forgotten about it. Never achieving anywhere near the sales success of the first generation tC, it’s a wonder the two-door Scion continues to soldier on.

Toyota Sequoia

In 2007, Toyota introduced the brand’s second-generation full-size three-row SUV and have seemingly forgotten about it ever since. In its nine years of existence, major changes to the model include to a new base engine, an upgraded audio system and the addition of a Bluray player. As should be expected, with the introduction of an all-new Chevrolet Tahoe and updated Ford Expedition, sales continue to decline for the Sequoia.

Volvo XC70

With the onslaught of new Volvo products, it might come as a bit of a surprise that the XC70 is still on sale. Not much has changed with this high-riding wagon since it went on sale in 2007 and with the introduction of the V60 Cross Country this year, the XC70’s days may be numbered.
